Jesus made a special promise to His followers. One of those followers named John, recorded this promise in the Bible:
"Whoever believes in Me as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'" (John 7:38)
Jesus was promising that His followers would be filled with God's own Holy Spirit! This would cause those followers to be transformed on the inside into new creations - sons and daughters of the living God; part of a new and wonderful family.
Jesus' gift is so precious that His followers can't keep it to themselves. We're compelled to share it with everyone around us! That's why Jesus said that "rivers of living water" would flow out of our hearts.
As Christians we want share the fantastic gift of LIFE that Jesus has given us. We want the "rivers of living water" to flow out of our hearts and quench the thirst of a world that is dark, twisted, and dying.
